A Designer clothes

 

The Mouton a Cinq Pattes, at 19 rue Gregoire-de-Tours in the 6th, has clothes from last year's runway shows, usually worn just once, at the show. Shopping at the Mouton is not for the indecisive, the atmosphere is frantic, and the clothes go fast. If you're a modelesque size zero, this is the place for you!!

 

 

Okay, well size zero has never hung in my closet. But I do like clothes.

I have found the most interesting clothes at Love's gas station. No, really. I got a great summer dress there for $12.00!!! I'm always looking for good deals, interesting design and now since I've gone just a little retro, 100% cotton. Of course that means I have to bring out the iron. There is something calming and relaxing about getting out wrinkles.

I have a wedding to go to in August. I really don't want to buy yet another fancy dress that will only get worn once. So.......while looking on Pinterest, (who doesn't like Pinterest?), I saw the most beautiful plain dress that was embellished with diamonds and pearls on the shoulder and back.....Yes, I'm thinking that will be my next creation.

In 2006, Paris added a new museum featuring:

2. Gargoyles

3. African and Asian Art

4. Lawn gnomes

 

 

3. African and Asian Art

While some may argue there's much need for a major lawn gnome museum, we certainly don't know of any in the works in Paris. The new museum of African and Asian art is a 2006 addition to Quai Branley, near the Eiffel Tower. It is Paris's first and only museum dedicated to African and Asian art.

 

The building alone is a work of art. I would put this on my list of must see when in Paris.

This louvre stop is a museum unto itself, with elaborate marble work and art right in the station. It isn't the only artistic station: Abbesses features murals alongside a  spiral staircase that leads to an Art Nouveau entrance, Liege is paneled with beautiful tiles, and Varenne, near the Rodin Museum, houses a replica of the Thinker.

Fortunately, service est compris in the price you see on the menu in most French restaurants. While extra tipping isn't unheard of, it is not required or expected. Still, if you want to ingratiate yourself at a place you might visit again, leave an extra euro at a cafe or a few at a restaurant.

 

When Kerry and I traveled to Seattle, and to Santa Fe, we noticed that the fine dining restaurants were adding on the tip automatically. It's in small print on the menu and if you don't see it you will on the bill. For years  restaurants have been adding larger gratuities to large parties, and some will add on a service fee for separate checks.

It's time to start planing for Christmas Dinner.

We have turkey for Thanksgiving and with my family one turkey dinner a year is enough.

Prime Rib, Roast Beef or even ham is on the menu.

But let's think of something else.

At the Tour d'Argent restaurant in Paris, duck is served with a numbered tag.
It says, what number your duck is that they have served.

Well, in my house we could start a new tradition,

Tag number 1 for 2013.

When Sarah and I went to The Paris in Las Vegas we had Duck Ola Orange.

I don't remember seeing a tag though.

I was happy to see that the duck was not served with its bill, or feet still attached.

Boulangerie Poilane has at times accepted art as payment for food, including the carbo-rich tree concocted by Salvador Dali. The bakery, on rue du Cherche Midi, is famous not just for sourdough country bread and apple tarts but for the works of art that adorn its halls and walls.

Oh, I bet the bread tastes better then anything I can get in the grocery store here.

My Challenge to you is :

Make a creative tree out of bread dough like Salvador Dali did, or better yet, make some wonderful art creation of your own.
