Following My Bliss

What surrounds you is what you will become.
I came across a quote that touched off me drawing this little picture.
"Ninety-nine percent of who you are is invisible. and untouchable."
R. Buck minster Juller (1898-1983)

If you are wondering the big questions of, Who you are and What is your purpose?. Well, I'm not sure there is just one answer for that.
My thinking is that I will have to keep exploring myself and my world around me.
I recently gave much of my artwork away to a thrift shop in town. This brought on a lot of speculation about if I have given up being an artist.
The answer is NO. Not at all. I had to let go of the old artwork, to make room for the new artwork I see myself doing.
I love this quote. It was given to me by a very wise and dear person to me.
Not only did she say things like, "If you really want something you will make it happen for yourself."
But her next quote was, "Quitters never win and winners never quit."
Those are hard words to go against.
At a young age there was plenty I did not know how to get for myself, so following others examples of what I wanted to do was a good decision.
Once I was older, Never quiting was harder as things became harder to do.
No, I am not giving up art or being an artist. I love it too much.
I am now giving myself time to develop and explore how to become more creative. Investigating how my artwork can inspire and help others. Exploring all my options, uncovering all the possibilities and investigating where the new adventure will take me.
I have emptied nearly 3 bookcases of books. I can hardly wait to see what I fill them up with in the coming years.
I have let go of research books, reference books, and how tos, just so I can free my mind to let in new ideas, new techniques, new ways of living.

Live to Inspire

Live to Inspire
Ideas and Concepts
acrylic by
Jean Hart
Inspire. ...

What moves you to the point that you must do something and then share it with someone?
Inspiring is doing something bold or courageous and then passing this high energy along to someone else.
How do you know if you are the one inspiring or being inspired?
I moved completely away from home at a tender age of 18. With no friends to a new city, college and barely no money.
Was that inspiring?
I married at 21 and again moved far from home to a city with no family or friends, with only $100.00 and no where to live.
Was that inspiring?
Being brave, vibrant, and as authentic as you can in living your life.
Yes, I think that's inspiring.
Telling how I left a job as a baker when I read a fortune cookie that said,
"Move in a different direction to begin your dream life".
Yes, that was inspired!
I hope that I don't just tell people about being inspired, I hope they are inspired by watching how I live my life. How sometimes taking a risk works out, being bold is exciting, taking chances makes your heart beat faster, by picking yourself up after a disappointment and moving forward after a good cry.
Keep moving forward...keep up the curiosity....keep the ideas and concepts coming.
I love this little abstract painting. It was my first attempt at painting concepts. Every time I look at it I see something new. It Inspires Me.
Show yourself to the world.
Breathe in, breathe out.
Be Inspired,
~Jean

June's Aspects

JUNE'S MOON
This little piece will go into my Blue Moon mail art project.
I love June, it's where the first day of summer is....and I love summer.
The month of June received its name from the Goddess Juno, protector of women and marriage. This is where the custom of June brides originates. This month has many flower festivals, rose parades, weddings, and dances.
Midsummer Night is a major international holiday for lovers, for divining for future, for building bonfires, and for jumping them for good luck.
Full moon aspect: Mead moon, strong sun moon
Universal event: The sun is moving away from the earth, but the constant moon prevails. The summer is peaking out, all ripens and gets ready for the harvest.
Communal event: Midsummer Night and Day. This is usually a three-day festival featuring dancing in the woods, with religious ecstasy. This is a time to gather all the tribes together, travel home to the old homestead, visit family and kin. All restrictions of chastity were lifted at the time; marriage proposals and weddings are lucky now.
Message: To bond, to lead, to rule
Activity: Endurance and triumphant fulfillment
Emotional mode; Bonding, loyalty
Healing properties: To make strong, to cleanse, prevention and protection.
Color: Purple, indigo
Tree: Oak and mistletoe, symbols of the male principle. This is the time for ritually cutting mistletoe, and catching it in a white cloth so that it never touches the ground.
Mistletoe is used in love spells, kissing under it.
Flower: Rose
Animal: Wren
Gem: Pearl, moonstone, alexandrite
