Have a little Faith,
acrylic, 3'x3'
Jean Hart Artwork

This abstract painting is the center of my travel wall. Now I'm not sure which wall is my travel wall according to feng shui, but I say any wall that you can see it and plan for travel has to be a good wall.

Paint with me

Jean Hart Artwork
Welcome to my studio.
I have been getting a lot of questions about how I became an
Art O Mat artist.
Let me share this with you.
I suggest you go to Art o Mat website.
http://www.artomat.org/
Look around and see what they are all about.
Down load their application.
You will have to submit your work.
Once you are approved go over all the guidelines.
I bought their blocks because for me its just easier.

 You will receive a box full and 50 2" x 3" blocks

 Next, paint, paint, paint.......
fill the box with your artfully painted blocks and mail it back to them.

Come along, I think this is an awesome idea.

What My Soul Wants Me To Know

Jean Hart Artwork

Peace, acrylic, 9" x 12" , Jean Hart

What My Soul Wants Me To Know,
cards from
Soul Coaching,
Denise Linn

Peace
That's the card I pulled for today,
"I breathe deeply, knowing that all is well in my universe."

There is a certain calmness that comes to you when you just stop and breathe. The schedule I have been on lately has for me been too busy with business, and many new projects.
I have always believed that I was in the right place at the right time doing the right thing.
But, suddenly I feel like I'm pushing things, forcing my way, and truly not getting things done.
I have slowed down my yoga, but not all of it. The beautiful part of yoga is the breathing.
Pranayama. Learning to breathe with intention.
When ever I get myself worked up and involved in projects that take a lot a concentration, I forget the breathe.
Lately, I have been practicing  Pranayama breathing twice a day. It's just enough to keep me centered and relaxed. I gives me time to focus and get out of myself.
It only takes a few minutes, so you don't need as much time as meditating.

Here is a good place to start.

Card Meaning: Breathe...and breathe again, deeply, and often. Everything is flowing as it's meant to be, smoothly and effortlessly. All is in perfect harmony.

Your Soul Wants you to know:
"True peace isn't static and boring, it's full of grace, enthusiasm, and vitality. Tranquility is the awareness that all is unfolding according to divine planning. Serenity isn't something that you have to attain, work at , or search for. It's already dwelling within you. To experience this within yourself, simplify your life, spend time in nature, and take time to listen to the messages of your Soul. Peace transcends fear and the illusion of separation and connects you intimately to God.
I make lists, many, many, lists....I have now started a new list. It's called
"The Finished List".
I read this about people who are successful. Not only do they write a list of to-do's, they then write a list of "Finished". What a great way of seeing that you really are doing what needs to be done, and  that all is in perfect harmony.

Jean Hart Artwork Newsletter April 2015

Jean Hart Artwork
Newsletter
April 2015

Today's the day.
I just finished my two samples.
I have painted, sealed, and sent them off with my application.
The two paintings, left and right are part of my new series,
"Let's have a Little Fun"
Wish me luck.
I will let you know what happens later.
As an artist I am always looking for new ways to show my artwork along with selling my artwork.
I have joined many  organizations, contests, and mail art programs.
For me art has been a life line. I would paint each day even if no one saw my work.
I love art. I read about art, I look at art each day, and I paint each day.
I have three books going at all times.
Art history, art biographies, and how to paint books.
I can loose myself wondering around an art supply store for hours.
I love to see whats new. Try something I have not yet done and basically be creative in all areas not just painting.
What's next for Jean Hart Artwork
I started to draw on paper cups. Paper Coffee Cups with lids, which I make bigger so you can use them as banks. I bought a box of cups so I'm still designing banks. New designs will soon be posted.
If your looking for an original, original fine art gift, these are fun.
I glue them to a wooden base for more security.
I have them displayed at the Northeastern Nevada Museum gift store or contact me.
they sell for $15.00
In May at the Elko Library I have a donation for their Just Desserts fundraiser
Read, Learn, Grow, acrylic 9" x 12"

Also, a puzzle  donated for the
Light The Way 5K
In Elko, Nv

What are the many ways you show your artwork?

March the month for Still Life

Jean Hart Artwork

March 2015
I have given myself a little art workshop.
I have decided since I have not done many still life paintings that I would try to complete five new pieces for the month of March.
They will all be acrylic paintings done on canvas paper, size 9" x 12".
The first painting was the stacked books titled Read, Learn, Grow.
Next was the First Tulips of Spring. Which I have donated to Ghost Light Products for their fundraisers.
This weekend I completed the third painting.
Bowl of Fruit.

Setting your color pallet is so important. I found that many times I didn't have the exact color and found myself mixing colors to get there.
What fun that was!
The important thing about mixing colors is to write down your measurements and colors.
Also, I found it necessary to keep some of the mixed paint on hand to help match the color again.
I keep a color wheel around me when I paint.
The color wheel is  a visual representation of colors arranged according to their chromatic relationship. The basic color wheel consists of 12 colors that can be broken down into three different groups: primary colors, secondary colors, and tertiary colors.
It's a great tool to keep near you if you are going to start mixing colors.
What makes a painting pleasing to the eye is when you have a color scheme that complements itself and one color is used within the whole canvas.
What paintings or projects are you working on for March?

The Circle Is Complete

The Completed Journey
Jean Standing in Front of Old Faithful, Yellowstone WY

After three long years I have finally made it to Yellowstone.
Three years ago Kerry and I were on our way to Yellowstone. We stayed the night in Rexbury after a day of being out in the hills driving around on rough dirt roads. The next morning I could not get out of bed. I could not feel my right leg down to my toes. We had to turn around and go back home. We made a stop in Twin Falls because my daughter told as of a chiropractor that would be able to help me. Dr. Fox. Sure enough they got me in and he said yes we can fix this slip disc. But, be prepared to work hard and stay with the treatments and understand this will take time, atleast two years.
We moved into a hotel and stayed for a week. I went to see him twice a day. After that I went twice a week for the first year. It took over six months before I could feel my toes. My balance was off, I tripped, I fell and was still in pain. My routine was this:
Sit on ice, walk around the dining room, hallway, front room for 5 min. I set a timer, rest for 30 min, do a small amount of neck exercises, sit on ice,
Repeat althrough the day.
The only thing I did was the dishes and that took me hours, showered, and made simple frozen meals.
That was my life and I barely had energy to do that.
After two years of therapy, the feelings in my legs came back. I was slowly picking up more house chores and shopping. My trips to Twin Falls now were once a week.
This year, I started exercising. Sarah and I went to a gym and had a trainer help to build my strength up. Here, I might add that I was also coming off a knee surgery and heart failure.
No energy, no strength, progress was slow and discouraging.
But, Sarah kept at me and we were a team. I had a goal of walking around NASCAR that year.
Last January a Yoga studio opened up. Sarah and I felt it was time to center ourselves better. The gym was great but suddenly we felt we needed something more holistic for the mind, body, soul.
Yoga has been wonderful. I do what I can. It's slow and I'm a beginner. I may always be a beginner, and I 'm fine with that.
I started walking 5K's, which is 3.2 miles.
My last x-ray reported improvement, my 5L actually moved a little back into place. Which surgery Doctors told me would never happen. I can feel my legs, and feet. I go to Twin Falls to see Dr. Noel every other week. My energy and strength has returned to a livable level.
Now here's the cool part.
I meet my goal of getting back to Yellowstone.
Kerry and I standing in front of Old Faithful at Yellowstone.

It was so cold I have two sweat shirts and a heavy coat on. But, I don't care, I made it back.
The circle is complete.
I'm not done with therapy, I may never be done since the 5L disc is still out of place. But I can learn to live with it now. I can walk, exercise, paint, and still have adventures.
The most critical stage of this recovery is over.
What's on my next adventure list?

Walking more 5K's
Hiking parts of the Continental Divide Trail
