Healing and Health
Healing and Health
my healing journey
Each year it seems since about 10 years ago when I hurt my back I have been on this journey. It was a back injury and I thought that was all it was. Little did I know that everything, is connected and if one thing goes wrong soon other things follow.
My tests results were not what I was hoping for and once again I'm back to monitoring, recording and reporting results.
The aneurysm, a blood vessels that popped in my eye, was not serious enough to require any medical attention, but it sure got my attention.
I'm not sure how it is that I'm feeling better then every, busier then I have been in years, and exercising more then I have in the last three years, that my test results show no improvement.
So, I have closed my eyes and pick a healing card. Setting my intentions for the new year to come.
Here is my card, for Caroline Myss and Peter Occhiogrosso,
"To be sure of the road, close your eyes and walk in the dark.
Spiritually closing your eyes permits Heaven to enact the most wonderful guidance in your life. Say the prayer, "open a new road to me today," and expect the unexpected.
When it appears, accept the gift."
Yes, I am looking for a new road. What I am doing has been the same for too long. I hope that 2015 bring many changes.
I have gotten a map of the USA, for a minute I thought about just closing my eyes and through a dart at it and saying,,,,There it is, Are next adventure for this year.....but, I don't have enough faith that I wouldn't end up in some little deserted ghost town.
I know change starts with one small step, and it happens everyday. So, really my goal is to get a new daily planner and start looking at each month, week by week.
Last year I did 5k's, this year I want to do trails.
Many blessing for the New Year to Come.

4womenArt, how it came about
Look we are on the marque!!!
We are so excited, and getting ready for the reception.
Friday, Aug. 23, 6-8 P.M.
It is open to the public and free.
There will be refreshments, music, fine art, and door prizes.
So many of you have asked me how we came up with our art group name?
4womenArt
It's a wonderful story.
4womenArt is a collaboration
of five women artist,
Vicky Andrus,Dee Burton, Gay Carrillo, Jean Hart, and
Barbara Hofheins.
Dee Burton, who usually holds a fine art show at the museum with artists from around the state of Nevada, with judge and jury entries, prizes, and a reception, was not able to do it one year.
Dee asked if we could help keep the fine art show going.
We were then only four of us:
a Wednesday night group called Attitude Adjustment.
It was there one Wednesday night, painting, talking and probably eating too that we
formed our art group titled
4womenArt
We are an art group with years of painting experience. Gay alone has been painting for 55 years, Vicky 35, Barbara since she was six.
We share the same ideas about art and art education and giving back to the community.
We saw this as a real opportunity to show our artwork and our commitment to painting new techniques, new ideas, new vision.
We had our first show with Dee's format. Two years later under 4womwnArt we had our second art exhibit, "4 square with Red".
When Dee came back to paint with us, the name 4womwnArt had clicked and people recognized our art group as the 4womenArt.
We now do shows with only the original five artists.
The "Elements" art exhibit is our third at the Northeastern Nevada Museum.
This year we are featuring Joseph Carrillo, composer. He has created original music for this art exhibit inspired by our artwork.

The Unbroken line
Technical Tuesday
Today's lesson is something I've pulled from a long ago art lesson I learned in junior high school.
Sometimes it's really fun to go back to those early days and return to lessons.
They have a new freedom to them once you get started.
This is called the unbroken line drawing.
- With a pen, yes a pen, there is no erasing. Start anywhere on the page you like. But the pen must not lift up at any time.
- Be free with this. I have shown a drawing of a vase and flowers. The idea is that you can take your finger and follow this line throughout the whole painting.
- If your happy with your drawing you can then start to color in the spaces.
- I love this challenge, it gives me freedom to just create. There is no right or wrong way to do this. I think they look very modern and contemporary.
- Have fun with this. Once you start you will see that you can make all sorts of landscapes, still life, even portraits.
- Can yoy remember the Etch-A Sketch? It is the same thing. You are working with one unbroken line. You may be surprised to learn that there are master artist who do nothing but draw on Etch-A Sketch's. Inside the case is aluminum powder and the knobs create a stylus. I had one of these as a kid. I spent hours working with it. But truly, nothing I creating would ever be called a master piece. Just the same it created hours of fun.
- Grab a drink and take some time to look at these amazing master pieces of artwork done with a Etch-A Sketch.
- Have fun,
- Be Inspired,
- ~Jean

What do you get when you cross a computer programmer with an artist?
COMPUTER PROGRAMMING LANGUAGE FOR ARTISTS.....AND OTHER CREATIVE THINKERS
What do you get when you cross a computer programmer with an artist?
A Computist?
No, that's not a real word...not yet anyway.
With the availability of computers, artists have taken to making and enhancing their artwork on the computer screen.
I have done this myself.
Digital Artwork
Digital Artwork. I drew this picture on the computer using my mouse. It is 2013's Water Snake and Snail....I found it tricky, with the mouse instead of a pencil. But, I'm sure with some practise I could get better.
Blue Moon over the Ruby's.
As I continued I learned to use some of the tools digital art offers.
Make Three Wishes, is one of my favorite digital art pieces I've done.
Processing (at www.processing.org ) is a programming language specific for the communities using electronic art. Processing was originally used to be a digital sketchbook, it quickly morphed into a tool capable of producing artwork and designs at a more professional quality.
There are lots of free downloads for artist to create in digital art.
Have fun with this, I love the instant visual satisfaction.
Question for today?
Do you think digital art can be put into the category of FINE ART?
Be Inspired,
~Jean

Psychology of color
Psychology of color |
| Still Life, by Jean Hart |
The psychology of color.
I love bold, bright colors. They don't always go with everything I paint. Most of the time they will not go in someones house. But, it's what I like and so I paint with dramatic flair.
Color has a lot of meanings, culturally and personally. What do you think of when I mention the color blue? Which by the way, the majority of people choose blue as their favorite color.
| painting in progress Jean Hart We associate colors with everything from moods to seasons to special events. But some colors are linked to physical reactions within our brains. When you are painting, take in to consideration the effect your work has on the viewer. Here are the most common associations for colors. Yellow, joy, sun, Summer, cowardice, vitality, bright, friendly Red, danger, blood, anger, passion, spicy, seductive, exotic

Strength to know when to let go
STRENGTH
I pulled the Strength card this morning in my near future tarot reading.
It says
"Love conquers all. Avoid pettiness and prejudice. The to be a peace maker. Weigh all sides of every situation. Don't be so set in your ways that you miss the big picture by focusing on details. Stubbornness is your challenge of the moment."
Interesting.......Making myself strong in body and mind as been a bit of a challenge. Building my strength in body just so I can carry my own suitcase when traveling or my own baggage when not.
The greatest part of this is I know the sun will come up and the moon too.
Right now for this day and days to come,I think that my strength will show from having the strength of heart to hold others close and let them go all at the same time.
Be Inspired,
~Jean
