First Tulips in Spring

March is here and Spring will not be to far behind.

I have been working on a still life painting.
It's a little acrylic painting, size 9"x12". canvas paper
It was pretty slow going in the beginning. The background is stippled with varing colors of brown, yellow, orange, blue, and troques.
Stippling is a technique of apply small dots of color to create texture or shading. The closer together the dots, the darker the stippling will read to the eye.
It's a slow process, but one I'm very pleased with.
It is not until the last stage when you add the highlights that I feel the painting came alive.
My next still life will be a bowl of fruit.
